Manitoba's PLAR Policy

In November 2001, Manitoba Education Training & Youth released its Policy Framework for PLAR which outlines the government's commitment.

The policy and corresponding activity occurs in three cornerstone areas:

• Post-secondary education
• Community advisory services
• Industry-based

The government has committed $3M over a three-year period to developing PLAR and to creating a coherent system of delivery throughout the province.

Critical to the PLAR initiative's success are the linkages between the three cornerstones, as well as connections to the efforts of other government departments using PLAR. The linkages help build towards the vision of a seamless integrated training and education system for Manitobans.
