Advisors at Adult Learning and Employment Centres provide PLAR services for free related to career planning and employment.

Your local adult learning and employment centres will work with you to:

  • set expectations of what PLAR can do and how prior learning will be proven
  • gather information on past experiences and accomplishments
  • assess what you have learned and how it can be translated to skills and knowledge
  • prove your learning through a variety of means including practical demonstrations, interviews, portfolios and testing
  • apply the recognition of the skills and knowledge to employment and future education

Ready to take the first steps?

  1. Think about your employment and education opportunities.
  2. Check out where PLAR services are available.
  3. Gather specific information about the PLAR process and timelines.
  4. Start to think about all the things you already know and can do well.

These steps can help you earn credit and recognition.
